Christopher Lee Rountree born on December 17, 1971, the son of James Earl, Sr., and Madie D. Rountree , of Prospect Hill Drive, Martinsville, Va. departed his earthly life on April 14, 2018 at Sovah Health-Martinsville. He is survived by his parents, of Martinsville, Va.; wife, Jessica, of the home; sons, Armonti and Cameron, of Martinsville, Va.; daughter, Amber, of Martinsville, Va.; brother, James Earl Rountree, Jr., of Martinsville, Va., mother in law, Sophia Hairston, of Spencer, Va.; aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives; and many friends.
He was a graduate of the of the 1991 class of Martinsville High School and graduated from St. Paul’s College in 2000; in Lawrenceville, Va. and did other graduate studies at Longwood University.
He was an ordained minister and served as the Associate Minister at Rebirth Ministries in Martinsville, Va. He was a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. which he pledged at St. Paul’s College.
He loved working with people, especially young people. He was a PDT Counselor at Patrick Henry High School in Roanoke, VA.
While at Martinsville High School, he played on the football teams, track team, a member of the Accidentals Show Choir, and he participated in other activities.
He was an avid hunter, photographer, fisherman, and loved assisting football coaches and videoing the football games. He never met a stranger, very outgoing, always helpful; he will surely be missed by all persons who knew him.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at 1 p.m. at St. James Holiness Church in Fieldale, Va. Elder Justin Scott Lucas, will officiate. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the funeral and will be at the home at other times.
